Hey all - here’s a few pics of my latest build, my 2nd 5e3. My cousin bought the first one off me for his son after seeing it so I had to build another!

It’s largely stock except for a few mods from Rob’s site like High gain channel, switchable NFB (I think this is a fantastic mod), PI grid stopper, screen resistors and a 33uF 1st filter cap. Speaker is a Jensen C12Q.

I built the cab from 19mm pine and went with the Vox faun tolex this time together with the silver/black cloth. I like this combo!

Thanks fellas! The tolex was a bit thicker to the emerald I usually use and it also had that web like backing on it which gives it a good purchase on the glue. It's one that you want to go up and run your hand over!

Amazing amp! Love that tolex color, too. The 5e3 is the greatest amp ever made!

Is it cathode biased? Looks like it with that resistor and Cathode in parallel.
    5E3 great choice.

Yes, as per the stock circuit there. The 6v6s are Mullards.........nice tone. I prefer them over the EHX's I've used in the past.

Nice! I'm looking at a 5f2a build now with a Hammond box chassis. I can't seem to find a reasonably priced Princeton chassis over here. Where'd u get yours,@Ess Eff?

Mine are all Chinese sourced but they are excellent quality, and great prices - one of the biggest suppliers to the industry.

My latest order (5E8) has been held up because of the Hong Kong riots so I'm reluctant to pass on their info till I'm sure they are still able to deliver.

Gorgeous, a real beauty, nice one!!!

You're right, amp building itself is great fun... wish I could build amps for friends and family. All my musician friends seem quite content with their stock BJs, Katanas, and so on -- I guess I need to develop tweakier friends.
