    Why Fender stopped making the piggyback amp series, I’ll never understand. If they reintroduced them, I think they would sell like hot cakes.

    That's lovely! In a few years I will gift my '61 to ... someone. Unfortunately unlike yours, it has had 50 years of me to deal with and has lost some some of its youthful beauty.

    I am new to guitar playing so please forgive my ignorance. What kind of amps are those that are in your picture are they combination amps that are wide but not very tall. Very interested in them

    the piggyback amp in the back is a Fender Bassman amp from around 1962. It consists of a amplifier head and separate speaker cabinet.

    the smaller piece in the front is a clone of a early ‘60s Fender Reverb unit. It’s basically a small tube amp containing a reverb tank that I run my guitar through like a pedal.
