Have one inbound. Anyone got any experience of this? I’m hoping to stack into my Timmy OD to see what sort of tones I can squeeze out.

Currently using a Blues Driver clone into the Timmy into either a Blues Junior or an Egnater Tweaker depending on my mood

I have one but I don't stack it with anything. I mainly use it to push my SFPR or Monoprice 5w.

That pedal gets a lot of positive reviews. Let us know what you think of it when it arrives.

I've tried a lot of different Klon type pedals, and that was the most expensive one of them all. I got it when they first came out, and I think I may have gotten a defective one, because it was very, very bright, didn't have the mid-hump that Klon type pedals have, and it wasn't very dynamic either. So, it really sounded nothing like a Klon type circuit to me, and I returned it. It seems to be well liked by all, so, either I got a bad one, or it just didn't work well with my amp, which seems unlikely, since all my other Klones sound great, and are among my favorite drives of all

Gorgeous pedal. Having the buffer on makes a massive difference in tone. The pedal responds well to touch dynamics. Sounds great on the bridge of my LP, AND also on the neck too. Initial impressions are good, but I need to play around with the Timmy to see in what order I prefer them to run in.

My Sugar Drive is bright though, so the tone is currently at around 9am. Playing into an Egnater Tweaker on the edge of breakup.

I’ll get more chance to experiment tomorrow as the wife is out for the day

I have a Sugar Drive and the MXR Timmy. I think they stack perfectly, but I don't use mine like that often. I mainly use the Sugar Drive to boost my J Rockett HRM into high gain. Yeah, it's kind of a waste of an expensive pedal, but it's a configuration that just happened to work for me when I was experimenting with all my drives. So, I use the Timmy for low gain, and the HRM separately for medium gain. Occasionally, for bluesy stuff, I'll boost the Timmy with the Sugar Drive.

that’s kinda how I’m thinking. Timmy on very low gain to boost the amp for rhythm. And the Sugar drive for blues tone

I love the tones from 2:54 to 3:18 AND 4:54 to 5:20 too

I gigged with a Soul Food into an original Timmy for a long time, amp set clean. Before that, for many years, I used a SD-1 and BD-2. The Timmy seems to work well with just about anything in front of it, but I think it really shines with a mid boost drive pushing it.

I can see I’m going to have to play around with this! Loads!

I want my sugar drive to be my main tone. Amp on edge of breakup. But the Timmy lends a nice crunch to get me some rock tones, similar to GVF I guess. So how to achieve that? Or maybe I need to play around with my guitar volumes a lot more and use the Timmy as a lead boost?

    Great pedal.

I've got a Sugar drive that I use into a Tweed Champ. I suppose it would work into my Egnater Tweaker too, although I don't use the Egnater much any more.

I set it about like you have it for crunchy sustained rhythm parts. Or with Drive somewhere below noon, Volume somewhere above, and tone about straight up, for use as a boost for leads.

How do set up your Egnater?

    My Tweaker is set-up thus:

    USA
    Vintage
    Clean
    Bright
    Tight

    B4EA9F6D-219A-43EF-BF6C-D8C5562899ED.jpeg

And the pedals have ended up here

    45988D62-DB36-4DC3-AA44-874CFA9AD9AD.jpeg

crunchy tones with guitar volume maxed.
Add the Timmy for a broader more dynamic crunch tone, get a HUGE clean funk tone with the Timmy and the guitar volume rolled back, and add the Sugar Drive into the mix for a sweet neck lead tone.
