I have one, the acoustic case. It's a pretty good case, and I bought it originally for a six string, but then when I got my Yamaha 12 string I discovered the case was perfect for the 12... so there y'are.

Seems well made, smells good, and I've never had a problem with it. I've definitely had cheaper-made hard cases than this one.

I just scored one for my Epiphone LP, and its perfect!

My only concern I have is the pin/rivet holding the handle on (very slight). But at 39 bucks for a hard shell case? It Rocks!

They're really nice.

The MF acoustic cases are 5 ply. Martin 300 series cases are 3 ply (as a point of reference.) Martin ships up to the 16 series guitar in the 300 series case. A 5 play acoustic case is nice.

I used to keep a DX-1 in a MF dread case. PERFECT fit.

I have bought one of the acoustic cases, one of the Strat style cases for a PRS Santana SE and I have one of their Mandolin cases.

Great cases.

I bought one of their bass cases, and it's taking a beating and still works fine...

Cheers, Tim

I got one for my 10 year old son's Les Paul. I ended up with an SKB case so I gave it to my son and we gave the MF case to his best friend who just got an Epi LP Special II. Seems only fitting that a Gibson should be in the better case.

But we had the Les Paul in the MF case for quite some time and it was more than safe in there.

Do you mean cases SOLD by MF or the actual MF case?
I don't know.
I was going to buy a MF case for my Tele and then read the reviews.
Most of them weren't very good. Keep in mind that these reviews were for the Strat/Tele case only.
Of course you can read them yourself at MF.

For a few dollars more, I would probably go with a Gator.
Thats what I wanted, but the shop was out of them so I got a molded Fender case. Still wish I had gotten the Gator.

I've got two of the vintage brown with a faux suede type feel, and they're pretty good. One holds a Tele and the other holds a Strat, both fit just fine but the Tele is a bit looser. Definitely worth the money.

I have several and though they've never left the house yet, (so I can't comment on the sturdyness), it protects the guitar well and the price is very reasonable.

Nos problemas con las cajas de la guitarra de Musician's Friend, Jose. No las mas mejor, pero no mala.

Boy I bet that's the worst Spanish ever attempted. And I had to look up "guitar case."

I got one of their cases for a bass and three for Strat/Tele when they had them on sale for $39.99. They are fine and the only issue I have with them is that they are a bit heavier than other cases I have seen.

The are OK. I've had the mandolin F one and the deluxe archtop vintage style. They smell funny sometimes. The rivit holding the tab to pull up the storage thing broke. I mean it's all pretty cheaply made but for a lower priced guitar it'l be fine.

I was wondering the same thing. Specifically, which cases have you guys bought? The reviews of the house-brand MF cases on their site are TERRIBLE!

I've been wondering about those MF cases as well, as the recent reviews seem to be pretty bad. Has anyone (other than tazzboy) bought one in the past few months? As it seems as many of you have had your cases for quite sometime, maybe some changes have been made, and maybe thats why recent reviews are bad? Also I have heard seen some reviews that say the tweed is better than the black, but then I think I may have read some that say the opposite as well....Any info would be great!

I am looking to get some cases, and while the MF cases look good, after the additional shipping charge, you're just a few bucks away from one of these...http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gator-GWE-Elec-Hardshell-Electric-Guitar-Case?sku=546207

I think I might get one of those once I get some money saved up from my las GAS attack....

But I also have the Gator Universal case that seems to work well too, and is reasonably priced....

I bought one a few months ago for my Palo Escrito Telecaster, and I have a bunch of other older ones. There's nothing wrong with the quality of the cases. They're sturdy and well made, but the don't fit a Telecaster like a glove. There's a bit of room for the upper portion of the body, so your guitar could do a bit of sliding in transport. Because of that, the case is probably best used for home storage.

I have one of the tweed cases, and it's not a bad case, but the tweed covering does not stand up to abuse very well.

I think some of the reviews on that site are hit and miss. I got mine around Christmas time. It's not the one where you have the choice between black or tweed. It's a soft brown vintage one, but it didn't cost this much back in December:

I have two. An acoustic tweed and a hardcase tweed. Both very well made and have been fine for me.
I don't know what the bad reviews are about. I have no problems with them.
