Question for those familiar with this amp and amps in general.

I have one of these, bought it used from a shop like 20 years ago for $100. Great amp but super loud and way more than I can use these days, I can't get it past 2 on the volume without the house shaking. Anyway I'm looking to sell it to get something smaller. Any advice on what one if these is worth in good working condition? It has some cosmetic wear but that's it.

I just consigned and sold a very clean & solid original RD50-112 for $375 at a big guitar shop. I'd guess I could have done quite a bit better on EBay if I'd wanted to ship it. Mine was supposed to be a very desirable MM model but I had zero responses on CL from asking prices much higher right down to below the consigned price.

So probably $300 or so for a clean 110, more on the Bay.

Monster amps BTW. Had mine forever like you, just didn't need it anymore.

... don't do it - LOL! Surely you can keep it quiet enough? These amps are worth more than the market dictates right now. The reissues come out shortly, and the reaction to those will have an impact on the value of the vintage models. Many people don't remember them. If they start appearing in music stores once again you will see an increase of interest in the classifieds.

Those are quality amps - I can't help but think you would regret the move.

The 110 does not have the 112 value. I'd say $250 - $350 should get some bites. If it's a smaller amp you are after have you thought about a trade? You could probably flip that for a smaller tube combo that still holds some value.

I actually have the 112 not sure why I typed 110 lol anyways I'm kinda having second thoughts on selling it now that I'm thinking about it, it's probably the nicest amp I'll ever own.

Those were good amps back in the day and popular. I had a chance to pick up a 4x10 combo a couple of years ago for $450. Super Reverb-type sound, Super loud, and Super heavy. An amp for Superman, not me.

When I looked at them some 38 years ago I was disappointed that the music stores were unable to give me as big a discount as I could get with Fender and Ampeg amps. And the MM basses were a bit more pricey than other mainstream brands. I remember feeling a little behind the time using older Fenders and Ampegs.

From what I heard the reissues will be made by Markbass for EB/Music Man.

I sold one on eBay a year ago. It was in very good condition, but not perfect. It sold for $450 + shipping.

Well, if you don't need the $ and have room, just keep it. They don't bring anything that would get you a comparable loud & clean tone IMO. I mean, it's kinda like a more portable Twin.

I've got 4 other good smaller amps + a 4X10 cab I can boot into if needed, and I just don't play where I need 'loud' much anymore. But truth be known, I coulda jettisoned every thing else & just lived with the RD-50 and a pedal if I wanted to lug it vs my lighter Princeton Reverb or PJ. Those old MMs are pretty darned good.

here's one that's a little unique . . . (link removed)

That pinwale tolex is sweet, and hard to find. Some NOS sold on eBay for $75 for 2 yards a while ago.

In my opinion, selling a Music Man is wholly unrewarding. It won't sell for as much as it should, it will take a long time to sell, and you'll regret it afterwards. At least that's how it went when I sold my 210-65.

If you really need to sell it, that's one of the more desireable models. $400-$450 with the MM speaker, $500-550 if it has the factory upgrade speaker (EVM12L).
