I was hooked.....until the vocal came in. Reminded me of an inferior version of AC/DC. Sorry, but thanks for posting.
I’ve heard worse...
Sounds very familiar:
Pylon is the greatest band of all time. Anyone who disagrees is mistaken.
I did say you probably don't.
In my top 10. Maybe I should have picked a different song, but that song is one of my favorites.
It predates Combat rock by 2 years.
I went to college in the SE in the '80s. Yep, familiar with all the Athens-ish stuff. Good memories.
Was Pylon an influence on REM? I’m trying to think of the song they did.
did REM cover one? Or was Pylon from Athens GA and on that compilation album?
Found it! I should have known. I played this song all the time on my Tele in the late 80s. Great song and great cover.
See my comments above. I hadn’t seen this post of yours when I wrote that, but now I listened to their version of Crazy. I like REM’s better, but this is really cool. Thanks for posting
Vanessa is awesome!
Pylon Reenactment Society is pretty good, recommend if you can find it.
Randy, RIP, nobody I have heard in my life sounds like Randy. Nobody. Unique guitarists don't grow on trees. But if they did some of those trees would have been in Athens.
I grew up in ATL and I knew every cop stop along the way. We'd drive over to 40 or Uptown and see a show and the bars closed early so we could make it back to 688 for the headliner.
I loved Pylon, still do. And I have vinyl, all of it. Seen them on reunion too.
OH, OH, OH...
Cool/Dub single was a re-release for Record Store Day last year. Get it of you can.
...I think you should catch that train...woo woo
Yes, REM covered “Crazy” by Pylon.
<3 Athens. So glad I got to be a part of that music scene...it’s truly special. Great share!
Not bad if you're into "dad rock"
The scene spawned some very good music, indeed...
