The bass line is something I've been plucking out on cello for like 15 years. Glue your hand in fourth position and all the notes are under your fingers without stretching. I have a lot of trouble with intonation and this whole project for me is about learning to play (finally), so I wrote it out and learned to play it on electric bass, where the strings are in fourths not fifths so it takes a little moving around. The Precision Bass (copy) lives up to its name and the bass line gets to be the foundation of all the other stuff, where I can try to play in tune on top of that. The cellos came out good enough I think. The bass solo outro is my favorite part.

Thanks!

more gear stuff. The main guitar sound uses the overdrive pedal. The bell-like sounds in the bridge are the bass amp's own distortion with the pre-amp turned up and plus delay and reverb in the wet amp

Microphone is a Rode USB-NT+ which has been pretty nice to work with compared to the iphone mic I used last month

Drums are like 80% direct and 20% room when I recorded the two bass tracks. The direct sounds fine to me and was easier to work with, just importing a wav in audacity
