Murphy’s Law strikes again!

I’ve been jonesing for a Bugera V5 amp ever since missing out on one locally last year. It was a deal at $135, but I waited too long to contact the seller. So a few weeks ago I start perusing Reverb and came across several under $200, but with ridiculous shipping. They sold quickly, leaving the $275+ choices.

Long story short I ended up making an offer on a Bugera T5 amp head last night, which was accepted. Paid for it this morning.

Tonight I came across this listing at my local GC:

I suffered with an event like that about 14 years ago. I saved my pennies and had $1,200 ready to finally purchase a real nice amp. I studied all the local listings and fleabay. I even did national searches on CL hoping to find a steal. I spotted an unmolested single owner '64 Bassman head in my ballpark. I sent half a dozen messages to the guy wanting to make the purchase, but was waiting for the reply. After 2 days of no response, I moved on and grabbed a deal on a Fralin VVT combo that was only 4 months old....jumped on it.

On the third day, the guy with the Bassman called me back and said he would accept my offer. I really wanted both...so I quickly sold my dirt bike and purchased both. Still play them often, but I kind of miss that dirt bike as well.
