Happy New Year! I picked my Mule up from my local tech yesterday. I noticed that the biscuit was not sitting level and upon closer inspection, the cone was ever so slightly collapsed. The fine folks at Mule provided me with a replacement swirl pattern cone, one they are using in their current builds—I’m assuming the swirls add some extra rigidity. Also used some nickel strings and the early results are a big improvement!

Hey glad to hear the ☑ up and fix went well. Strings can be a big game changer on a resonator. The right strings change everything into the positive.
A swirl patterned cone, new design? Very cool. Pics of said cone would be much appreciated. Let us know if it changed the sound compared to the original after it breaks in. Take care.

Good to hear that Matt helped out - he's appeared to be a little less supportive of second and subsequent owners than I'd have expected.
Do you know where he sources his cones? He did talk of spinning his own some years ago, but that's gone a bit quiet. I think it may not be as easy as it looks.

My Mule turned 3yrs old on February 24,2023. We have been making music together every day of the past 3 years. I have to say, it has been a great three years.

Happy belated anniversary! Here's to many more happy years together.

My #359 turned 5 years old in late January. I mark the day I picked it up as its birthday, 7th Feb. I noted it in the Resonator thread

Here's a pic when it was a day or two old before it left the nest.

The binding around the headstock of your Mule really helps set off the brass and "warm" colors it has. She is a beauty.
