So I'm thinking about getting my Muddy Waters re-finished in nitro cellulose.
Anybody recommend somebody in the EU?
I'd be doing the preparation, so just need a top notch finish.

Well you know.............

It's not that hard to spray using cans. Re Ranch sells them, I've used Bin white shellac as the primer and Re Ranch has the color and the clearcoat all as spray cans............ Just say'n.

I would be very wary about a refin on that Tele, those are highly sought after models, but it's yours to do with what you want. I would say get another Tele and do it with that though.

I had an original Fender Lead II. I got the idea I would refinish it. It was never the same after. I vote don't do it.

If you can, buy a Tele with the finish you like.

Also you don't know what the wood looks like under the paint. It could be several pieces. Three to five on some of those MIM Telecasters

I've had my Muddy for 20 years. During that time, I've read comments from a couple of guys that stripped the thick polyester finish and reported that it was a difficult process. I don't recall if they were pleased with the result or not.

Are we talking about the Custom Shop version or was there another version that I’m unaware of?
I assume we're talking about the more affordable Made in Mexico version.

As I recall, the major pieces (neck, body, pickups) were U.S. made. Painting and final assembly were done in the Mexico facility.
