I just picked up a new-to-me Road Worn Tele and the guitar plays and feels pretty fantastic. The Bridge pickup sounds great too! My problem is that the neck pickup is just a woofy ball of mud. It sounds like the tone knob is rolled all the way off. What's the deal?!

The bridge pickup is nice and sparkly, volume & tone work great (CTS 250k pots). I've tried lowering it, and it helps some, but not enough and now it doesn't balance with the Bridge pickup at all.

There's a demo for this model at N-Stuff and the same "Vintage-style single coil tele" pickups sound really nice with plenty of clarity and sparkle (Neck pickup @ 2:03):

Did I just get a dud pickup? Has it been damaged somehow?
