I had the Pocket Fisherman, don't know why I ever thought it was a good idea. Still, he was a renaissance man.

Ron Popeil, creator of the infomercial and dozens of products including Pocket Fisherman and Hair in a Can, dies aged 86

If you grew up in the 70's, his products defined your times

I actually caught a fish with a “pocket fisherman” once.
    It belonged to a friend.
I had to try it out.

Bought this in 1978, to have hot tea in the cold, while I delivered my morning papers, as a paper boy

Yep, I grew up in the home of K-Tel, so I am forced to remember them. (The son of its founder is still a journalist in Winnipeg.)

I had a boss once who had previously worked for Ronco, and had ACTUALLY MET Ron Popeil. I was impressed.
