Seem the lawn mower took out my 96 Tacoma side window with a rock. Well tomorrows project, door panels are pretty simple to remove just have to find the glass. Just liability on the truck no window coverage

Wow - the mower has some serious throw-power.

Glad to hear you didn't kill Mrs Kravitz.

Bummer, I had to replace the side glass on my Rodeo a few years back after some scumbag broke it to steal a saw I had on the floor. It was only about $100 bucks to have a mobile guy come out and replace it for me.

I hate dealing with those circlips on the winder and fragile plastic trip clips.
Vacuuming all that glass out of the door and interior is also a pita.

I took out the glass on my front door with a rock that my weed eater picked up once. One in a million shot. :)

I'm just glad nobody got hurt from it.
That Rock could have done a number on somebody's face.

Lesson learned, take a deep breath, carry on.

Better off taking it to a glass installer. There are a lot of stupid plastic clips on door panels and window channels these days that will break off reall easily and they are expensive little bastards and not easy to find replacements.

I removed the door panel on a Park Avenue a few years ago and broke 2 panel clips and another small ring clip inside. I had to drive 90 miles to the nearest body shop supplier to find replacements. Just 2 clips and a ring clip cost me $14. Factor in the gas and time I wasted and it was not saving me much as a DIY project.

I've had the doors apart a couple times, I think I still have some extra clips

I did the same when I first ran the used LX 176 I’d just bought at a Deere tractor dealer. Was done and noticed all the “tree sap” lying on the ground beside my T-100 passenger side window and was amazed even after I figured out what had happened. That’s how I learned about “lift blades”.

Most auto parts stores sell interior clips in small packs for a few bucks, just take one in as a sample to make sure you get the right ones.

I had to replace a window on my 2001 Ford Ranger (don't ask) and they wanted almost $200.00.

I knew a guy who had an awfully good looking wife. His lawn didn't look nearly as good as his wife, in fact it had started looking like a pasture in need of a herd of cattle. One day the spirit moved him to mow the lawn with one of those rotary mowers. His wife walked out side wearing those cute little shorts she was fond of sporting, and whammo the mower picked up a can lid and sailed it right into her upper thigh! Emergency room wound resulted. She was still good looking, but she had a sizable scar on one of her pretty little legs.

    Here’s what I just read:

Several years ago, the landscapers hired by my HOA kicked up a stone that cracked my front window just like that. I was there when it happened, but they denied liability. I took the matter to the HOA board, who told me they weren't responsible for window problems. Fortunately, it was a double pane, and only the outside glass was cracked. So I used clear packing tape to hold the outside together for over two years while fighting with the HOA board. They threatened to fine me if I didn't fix it, and I threatened to sue them over it. Finally, they broke down and replaced the window. It was only $209 including labor. I totally hate them.
