Mould and fungus at the back of amp

I just realised that at the back of my peavey envoy 110. There were furballs and grey stuff growing all over the place. How do i remove these things? and will it effect the quality of the sound of the amp? My guess is that i should "air" the amp after using when the heat builds up.

I was just about to post a Bob Mould reference!

Actually, I used to keep my Gibson amp in the basement and every now and again I would clean the tolex with a kitchen cleaner followed by armor-all (kitchen to kill the grayish gunk and AA to make it noce and shiny).

I wouldn't suggest pouring bleach or anything harsh on it though

A mild solution of laundry chlorene bleach and water will kill the mold.

hmm the amp will product heat...so won't the heat kinda like um...bring the strong smell of bleach out even more and poison everyone in the room

I said a MILD solution, not a strong solution. 10% is enough.

Id agree, why would you want to get rid of that kind of mojo? If I had mould growing in the back of my amp id sure as heck be showin the guys next time I played with em..."Check this MOULD out fellas!"...

of course, if you want to"break the mould" with your playing, go right ahead!

Over here in the UK they recently televised The adventures of 'Fungus the Bogeyman' and 'Mould was the name of his son. (They had an Auntie Septic!).

I pictured 'Fungus' and 'Mould' sitting in the back of your amp enjoying a nice cup of slime with some mouldy bread. Sweet!
