We have a butcher/specialty meats place, a few miles from my house, that cures their own hams. I order their blackberry cured ham for Thanksgiving. They are unbelievably good. I fix the ham, a small turkey and a bacon wrapped venison roast. Perfect Thanksgiving.

Doubtful it has honey but main one I like is Kentucky Legend Black Forest. They do also offer
honey, smoked, hickory smoked, glazed and baked flavored ones.

We tend to go for the "Cure 81" hams from the supermarket. Occasionally I'll run across a black pepper cured ham...mighty fine.

Neither of us like salt cured or sugar crusted. Smithfield whole ham is usually good.

How many people? That sounds like a truckload of meat hitting the table.

    Delicious? Yes.

Honeybaked ham is definitely overpriced, but I wouldn't say it was overrated. During the holidays, the location we use (in Toluca Lake, CA) has a line down the block. I know because I waited in it this past Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I dislike ordinary ham but like the good stuff. If you know how to prep country ham and don't try to use it like mass-made hams, the stuff is great. I recently had a Honeybaked and to my surprise it was really excellent. The ham itself was really high quality, which is uncommon these days, when most supermarket hams are just... weird. Exactly! Usually anything having to do with the devil (foodwise) is fun and decadent. This just tastes like hell.

    Scrapple on white toast please.

Done proper, its a treat. Luckily I have the self control to make it only an occasional treat, but its a treat just the same....
