There has to be a mathematical formula in here somewhere. The poster's avatar, who they dislike, who they can't believe someone else dislikes, the Telecaster connection, the age, etc. Put it on white board and we can mathematically determine the most liked and disliked bands on the TDPRI.

I feel I fall into a very small and elite group who prefers their studio work to their live stuff.

I didn’t expect to see them in this thread. Or Dylan for that matter. Interesting. Dylan turning electric and the band practically creating the genre of Americana...

I got to see a magical evening of Supertramp when I was 15 and in Seattle.

Their albums still stand up, but maybe one had to be in the moment.

looking over this thread, I see that pretty much every band ever is greatly overrated.

so we should just set the dial back to zero and start all over again.

I’m happy for you. I guess it doesn’t matter what it is, some people will love it, some will hate it…

    - I'll add onto the Beatles votes with the caveat that I definitely understand and appreciate their significance and impact, but most of their music annoys me to no end. Some of it is pretty alright.

    - Radiohead does not have a single song I can tolerate, but I'm glad people enjoy their music.

    - Muse. Matt Bellamy is a real wanker which only ads to how faux-intelligent all of his music is.

But, there's a reason we don't just have vanilla ice cream.

I don't ever remember hearing Sí (Yes) on the radio a single time either when I lived in or when I visited Spain.

Music to me doesn't have to be ground breaking or technically difficult, I just have to like it. Most bands have a song or two I may like but not their whole catalog. Some super popular artists I don't care for at all. Some that are berated on these forums are my favorites.

Every band is so overrated that it’s hard to tell who’s most.

This thread is really "bands I don't like/get, but millions of other people do".

It's all just noise, some you like, some you don't.

    But..... :)

    Kiss.
    Lick it up?
Please.......do you club your women over the head and drag them to your cave?
One step above hitting your own skull with a stick.

    Oasis.
The Stone Roses for people who don't actually like or understand music.

    Amy Winehouse.
If black female blues singers make you feel sexually inadequate.

    Rush.
    Music for right wing virgins.

    Metallica.
Horrible people borrow a Machine Head album and make lots of boring albums for social inadequates.

    The Pet Shop Boys.
100 years of wonderful electronic music reduced to cliche.

    NWA.
One percent of the talent, conviction and political nous of Public Enemy, plus a couple of decent samples.

    Mumford and Sons.
An entire career based on one misunderstood listen of a Fairport album at a teenage party.
