Oh boy, a thread for some people to be jerks, and other people to get bent out of shape about it!

    Win-win!!!!

I respect and admire anyone that can write music and get up on stage and perform it. It can take a lot out of a person too - Ian Curtis for example (I think Joy Division is great, Skynyrd too; both writers/bands sang/wrote/played from the heart).
Kiss and Nugent are definitely overrated though...

I'm kinda sorry for anyone who can't see that others don't like their favorite bands without getting upset about it, or without thinking they're jerks because of it. What's that saying? To each their own?

Yup. I love shellfish. For the life of me, I'll never understand someone who doesn't. But I wouldn't be personally offended if someone said, "Shrimp sucks."

Can't understand Radiohead at all. Probably be better if Thom Yorke never opened his gob.
Nirvana on the other hand... In Utero and MTV Unplugged are big favourites.

With me, listening to the GD for so long ( and I was a late-comer- never saw the band with Jerry) I like the inspiration ( almost like 'permission') I get from listening to the GD, and Jerry's acoustic/bluegrass playing ( and JGB too) that you can play and perform whatever the hell music you like. And I do!

( now, I just happen to like most GD music, but it's more an artistic freedom mandate to me!)

I disagree with those who claim the Beatles are overrated. Having lived through those times, their impact socially was even greater than their impact on music. Exciting times with everyday bringing in the "New", new hair, clothing styles, social mores, music, attitudes. Extreme change on a daily basis with them leading the charge. The "British Invasion" changed the whole planet.

    Opposite for me.

But more importantly, I'm hurt. So hurt.

Why can't we all just get along??!!!:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Sure they're entertaining but not very authentic I think.

Now the Six Fat Dutchmen, that's were it's at!

    Check out this tasty jam!:

Ha! I just read every word of every post in this thread. There’s not a single mention of any of the bands or artists that I listen to the most, and that’s a pretty long list of potential targets!

Either I have impeccably good taste, or I listen to a lot of obscure music.

I choose to believe that I have impeccably good taste.

I loved them so much in college - the early '70's; but got to say the Dead. Can't listen to much of their music now.
