I'm not too keen to argue but please explain
Nah, you don't get to headline Glastonbury festival multiple times as an underrated band.
I love Radiohead. I also totally understand why some people would find them overrated.
Darius Rucker and that crummy band he was in.
I realize it's a brash claim.
They are a highly regarded band. Possibly the biggest band in the world for the past 20 years. But... To me they are my generations led zeppelin. They don't typically get that kind of acclaim, of which I feel they deserve. Maybe I'm having a two pint brain fart. That's probably it.
I love the Grateful Dead,
but I've never.felt that they've ever been rated high enough ( musically/ critically) to begin with, to be deemed ' overrated'
I think many ( most?) of us that like this Dead consider them imperfect yet inspired from time to time; still likeable- like us!
* still, they have played, recorded, and performed a hell of a lot of music- and put it all out there- they just stick around!
They were the best of bands and the worst of bands.
I was about 50/50 on seeing the Dead.
Just about all the bands/artists listed have had (maybe) at least one good tune that I like.
Not everyone can be the Beatles...….. ;>)
The Byrds .....EVERY song sounds the same!
CSN. .....One good album...
Metallica.... Jethro Tull a better heavy metal band!
Aerosmith ....3 good/great albums followed by morphing into Golden Girls
Cheap Trick.... cheap trick indeed!
Dave Matthews ....It's like music ...but not really
Red Hot Chili Peppers... spaz-bots
Genesis et al...THE end of prog rock in one convenient package
Springsteen... constipated grunting at its finest!
The Clash ...As derivative as you can get and be "genius"
Yep, fan boys, they are overrated and over appreciated. We know they good, we know that some songs are classic so enough with it.
This thread is designed to piss people off.See ya.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Smiths would have been good if not for their awful frontman/singer/lyricist.
Oh please, the guitar solo he did in the middle of "Beat It" was excellent...
