Tommy Emmanuel, Jan Akkerman (twice!), Howard Jones, Andy Powell and the artist David Shepherd. Tommy and Howard were delightful - so friendly and funny. Our troubled little planet needs more like them!

I'll offer up a few name-drops, but just name some of those that are fitting for this forum,
Jim Marshall and Paul Rivera (several times) as amp builders.
And Peter Green (sat on a couch together for about 20min. and talked about guitars a bit) would have to be the most personally revered guitarist (from a longer list) I've met.
With Mstislaw Leopoldowitsch Rostropowitsch I chatted about cello set-up. He would have to be finest musician I've ever met.

Steve Martin, Kevin Kline, Bono, Alice Walker, Tom Robbins, Anne Rice, Natalie Merchant. I saw the guys in REM all the time back when I was in school in Athens, GA, but they weren't famous then. I've also met a bunch of politicians who are more famous than any of that lot (except possibly Bono).

I've had the honor of playing with David Houston and Tillman Franks years ago, Jerry Gimble (Johnny's brother), and just a couple weeks ago, Noel Haggard.

In the 1980s, I worked for the Westwood One Radio Network. I met too many music biz people to name or remember. But more interestingly, I spent a summer in Malibu in the mid 70s, and I ran into Cary Grant at the dry cleaners, and Mickey Rooney at the grocery store. That probably happens all the time out there.

Oh, forgot to mention, Ted Danson was a classmate in college.

I noted that people closer to him call him Eddie.
I had also learned that he had a musical background - awesome.
I'd be curious to know his mother - she raised a fine son, to be sure.
I met him via his appearance at the Fan Expo event here in Toronto a few years back - at this point, they had filmed the finale of the new Battlestar Galactica, but it had yet to be broadcast.
It's the first time I actually indulged in a 'fanboy' photo-op; I've got this great shot of us at the event. The great thing which to me spoke of his strong and kind character - I'm sure he'd already done this hundreds of times that day, but upon knowing that I'd ponied up for the photo op, he asked if we had a camera (did), and then got up from his seat with a very disarmingly warm smile. And the way he got into frame for the photo was extremely friendly and accessible - like old friends.
Very positive experience - and I've also got a framed photo he signed with what I consider a classic EJO / Adama quote - "Steve, Roll the hard Six"

I met Col. Gregory Boyington. He was a WWII Marine pilot and a Medal of Honor recipient. Thrilled me to death.

I've met and I've eaten with (not all at the same time) David & Jan & Django Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Peter Fonda and Larry & Maj Hagman. I have my father in law to thank for this. David once gave advice to our middle son about sticking with his guitar lessons because women like musicians and "someday" David was sure that our son would discover girls. David told our son that David didn't consider himself to ever be good looking yet he's had a few attractive girlfriends. I almost peed myself while listening to this conversation. Croz was handing out tips for attracting girls to my little guy. Nice.

David - my boy - me......just after the boy got all that great advice.
