I'm military, so I've been all over the middle east.

Probly the most unusual was Sana'a, Yemen, where the terrain kind of looks like Mars.

Another memorable visit was Pakistan. I'm trying to remember what city it was, but they were burning massive amounts of garbage. The smoke was so thick it was like heavy fog and a fine layer of ash covered everything. It was pretty much exactly like Mordor from Lord of the Rings.

The place I definitely plan to go back to is Suriname. I had a blast while I was down there, and their New Years celebration is supposed to be like Mardi Gras but with explosives.

Spent a few weeks in Burundi, Africa in 2011. I'll never forget her reaching for my hand.

The mountains of North Carolina in October. And it's only an hour away from Charlotte.

    Sorry, no pix
The Great Blue Hole (Belize). At least it was for the first 4 times I dove it. After that it became another dive site

The drift dive in the Tobago Cays (St Vincent & the Grenadines). I did it weekly for about 6 months. Depending on the current you sailed over a massive shelf with all matter of soft corals and sea fans (like a wheat field) shelf to a shelf with a vertical drop off to your left or massive brain corals, huge sponges, reef sharks and the occasional manta ray

The early days of Stingray City before it became a tourist trap

Almost any part of South or Central America. I’m especially fond of Costa Rica.

Uh, yup. I’ve been to a lot of exotic places over the years. I was a little busy though, and didn’t take many pictures, LOL!

I’ve managed to spend some time on every continent except Antarctica, but unfortunately, not many of the places I’ve been would be considered tourist destinations.

One time, I actually got to see the place where you’d stick the tube if you were going to give the world an enema, LOL!

After I retired from the military, I lived in Africa for years. That was definitely exotic and beautiful. I miss it sometimes. Other times, I remember why I left.

Most unusual for an American to visit, possibly Armenia. Or Madagascar. The North Korean dmz was one of the weirdest, and part of a day tour no less, but plenty of guys in the service have been there. When I’m on my computer maybe I’ll post some pics.
