The Harmony Roy Smeck is rare, fairly deep, and not the most durable guitar and the Gibson ES-125TD(no “C”) is thin and everybody who owns one isn’t letting it go cheap. They both used to be $700-$1200 all day long.

and I was asleep at the switch and didn’t buy either when they weren’t overpriced.

But I will always love them...

man - those f holes on the Roy Smeck are incredible!

I'd love to plug in that 125...

I have a single-pickup Smeck with a P13 and a warped neck. Women flee and strong men weep when I play slide on that thing, which is about all I can do at this point. Kind of a feedback machine but that's part of the fun. I have a long-term ambition to find a P13 and build a tele around it but they are hard to find.

I must admit F holes and trapeze bridges are pretty cool. Non cutaway, like a traditional guitar, is a good look too. I don't think I've ever seen a Roy Smeck model before. Nice pics.

I learned to play, on a Hofner Senator, from 1961- Europe's cheap answer to the ES125. A friend still has it. In pieces. :(

There is also a Gibson Roy Smeck model, he was a huge guitar hero pre-WW2.

I'm surprised to see an electric with his name on it - I didn't realize his career lasted so long.
