This one will be weird, but...

I once have been hanging with friend of mine, she was far from being pretty , although i like to talk with her. She had a crush on me, i knew it but never really wanted to be with her. Totally not my type, she has this Slavic-Asian type of look which some of guys really dig. There was a day where we're were walking around and my grandmother have seen us togather hanging around. There was nothing special expect....

After few days my Grandmother told me that i it is nice that i meet with this girl but she also told that "You known , it is lovely that you hang on with thta girl, although you are way too handsome for her and she far from pretty, you cannot date girl and be prettier than her, its not the way how life works. Find some pretty girl, will you ?"

My granny is 80 and she is the sh*t :D hahaha, it had a lot of laughs that day :)

    How about you ?

Compliment that I've received. Compliment that I've received. Compliment that I've received.

I don't get it. What is that?

In 7th grade, Kim M handed me a note in class and said "I want you to seriously look at this." It was a poem written from a girl's perspective about a boy she really wanted to get to know better but was too timid to have a face to face conversation. I was on cloud 9. This was the most awesome thing a girl had ever said about me. I penned a gushing note back expressing my desire to take this relationship further and found her in study hall, flush with the glow of puppy love. She saw me, smiled, and said "hey, I wanted your opinion on that poem. You're a really good writer and I wanted your thoughts before I gave it to Gary.” Crushed, I limped through that conversation whilst my ego retreated to the almost-friend zone.

A friend of mine told me his girlfriend was pregnant. I answered that i had noticed, because her tummy was growing. Then he told me that it had been 3 weeks. Awkward moments followed.

Telling the truth can be dangerous business.
Honest and popular don't go hand in hand.
If you admit that you can play the accordion,
No one will hire you in a rock 'n' roll band.

    Yea!

On Davis Grier's "Live At The Linda" (GREAT album BTW!) Some old lady says that and "I wish you'd play something I know so I can tell if you're any good!"

"I kind of liked what you were trying to do with that song."

"We don't recognize any of the songs you're playing. Did you write these things?"

"The amp you're using sounds pretty good." (i.e. that amp would sound even better with a real guitar player...)

"The rest of the band sounded great tonight".

"Would you mind walking me to my car? There's this creepy old dude at the bar whose been trying to hit on me and I know I can count on you as a friend..."

Of course, at my stage, the game has been long, long over. I'm lucky to have found the wife that seems happy to stay with me. And really, I'm at the stage where I'm not only invisible, but attractive women have a perceptible vibe that radiates this signal: "Don't. even. look. at. me. Seriously. Don't."

I was madly in love with a girl in college... she really was my 'it' girl. Once we were laying about and just kind of talking and she said, 'you know what I like about you, you are cute, but you know, not a fox or anything, but you kind of don't seem to care.'

this guy was pretty bummed at the time... but I told myself I'd forget that she said it at all...

A friend of ours told my wife and I (not once but twice) that she hoped that she and her husband would be just like us when they got old. Hmmm...

In another part of my life I play bass recorder in a recorder quintet, playing mostly renaissance repertoire. After a concert, a rather posh lady came up to me and said “I never knew recorders could play real music”.

I’m taking that as a compliment.

Oh, it was a very nice thing to say, and she's a very sweet woman. I admire them as a couple so it was taken as a compliment. It's just the 'old' thing... Still, I really like them so I'm sure they'll turn out just like us! :D
