I may have told this before, but it's okay. Old Tom and his buddies got their rear kicked by an old fellow I knew out by Lake View. He had a dilapidated old trailer house sitting on a couple of acres, and when the price of real estate was up, got him some of that good old Reverse Mortgage money on the joint. He managed to get close to a hundred and fifty thousand in the loan, he took the money, hooked up with a senior citizen cutie and moved off somewhere out of state, and lived happily ever after. I don't know how he managed, but I don't think they ever caught up with him. I knew his neighbor pretty well and he thought it was pretty cool. The empty property was still sitting there last I knew of it.

I despise the Tom Seleck AIG reverse mortgage ads. “I checked them out. I trust them and I think you can too.”

Sure Tom. I’m sure you’re meager income and limited assets will require you to need a reverse mortgage and you’ll put your trust in them!
He must have taken some heat from viewers because he had to do another commercial where he claims “this isn’t my first rodeo and I wouldn’t recommend them unless....”. Yeah, you wouldn’t recommend them if they weren’t paying you serious bucks.

I’m also not fond of Namath pitching Medicare, Ditka pitching CarShield etc.

That one is pretty cool! The one where he's driving and trying to tell the woman he can SAVE HER, is just insane!

It cost me about $40 a month to watch everything commercial free, it’s worth every penny.

One of those I thought was actually kind of funny.

"Do you ever wish you weren't a motaur?"
"Sure, sometimes I wish I had legs like you."
    "Yeah, like a regular person?"
"No, still half bike, half man, just the opposite."
"So, uh, like legs on the bottom, motorcycle on top? Yeah ... yeah, I can see that."
"No, motorcycle on the bottom with legs on top."

The best part of that one is when the woman sees LiMu Emu in the car. The expression on her face as her window goes up is priceless.

You know it's a worthy ideal to save the dogs of this world, but I personally have known people and seen the results of going way too far with it right here in Kern County. People who try to take in forty or fifty animals are generally doomed to failure. I can accommodate one, or maybe two. One now, we can't handle two anymore. The one we have now we saved from almost certainly going to the pound before he got there. He's a good dog, but a lot of people wouldn't get to know him enough to keep him. He's 100% house broke, but he's very independent. I think he'd also been mistreated. It took almost a year to get him to pack up with us. He's a big buddy now, but a lot of well meaning people would probably have given up on him before they found out that he's a pretty good dog.

The whole appeal to adopt abandoned dogs is a well intentioned thing, and we have been successful doing it along the way. To tell you the truth though, Toto and Bella were purebreds, that came to us as pups and never knew anyone but us, and they were just like having a couple of surrogate kids. They never were abused, so there was nothing to overcome. That and the fact that Toto was a little human dressed up in a dog suit.

Ummm... "Advertising Professionals" as found in over 2000 advertising agencies in NYC?

There is a passage in Augusten Burrough's "Dry". Augusten's friend is an undertaker. Augusten explains to his friend that an undertaker provides a service while advertising provides a dis- service.

I was a journalist until the video gear got too heavy. That was in the good old days of heavy gear.

The key to the city on his key ring does it for me, and I hate Liberty Mutual as a company.

All of them, especially when I'm watching "Better Call Saul."

I will, though, make exceptions for any Zooey Deschanel commercial.

I've said it before, but this time I mean it: Deep down, I'm pretty superficial.

This one, actually, often makes me think of how much it must infuriate some dutifully yells-at-clouds TDPRI members. The director is not even TRYING to make the guy fake a chord.

Also: PLEASE let the 1970s die, people. PLEASE!

That’s hilarious. I would watch that commercial. I’m sure you still have some connections. Make it happen!:lol::lol:
