I'm looking for the most accurate repro early 60s Tele control knobs I can find . . . as I'm working on something that looks like this original . . .

You can see in the pic (above) that the knurling doesn't come as close to the knob's top edge like Fender's current 60's repro knobs do (below) . . .

(image removed)

HOWEVER, it looks like the 58 Pure Vintage knobs are somewhat close (below) . . .

Anybody have any other suggestions??? Thanks!

(By the way, I managed to source an actual vintage Dakaware switch tip for the build which I'm pretty jazzed about--but I must admit that it's nearly identical to the current Fender repros . . . next I need to track down a decal with the "TELECASTER" printed boldly enough.)

This may or may not help.......this genuine 1970 Tele original [3/4"] diameter aluminium plated knobs suffered from peeling chrome in early 1972.......I also felt the weight of the actual knob was lacking feeling....[the aluminium surface when photographed does not display the peeled chrome surface]

So for whatever reason I secured a [1.0"] diameter piece of bronze and machined/knurled the 2 larger diameter knobs with a copy of the knurling depth & had them chrome plated

The aluminium knob each = 13 gms, the bronze each are 78 gm's ..... or each 6 x times the weight......

So the heavier knobs have always provided a hugely greater tactile rotational feel during levels......movement......

[an old trick with Stratocaster players was to adjust the height of the 3 knobs, so to drag on or against the Pick Guard]
