I have the DLX tele and like it a lot. The playability was right there with a Squire CV, except monoprice guitars come reasonably setup right out of the box.

That is just seriously insane. How the heck do they make money on these? Lose a little bit on every sale, but make up for it in volume???

Looks like the blue one is also on sale, but nothing in the descriptions about body wood? Anyone got of these? Weight?

Q- "How do we do it?"
    A- "Volume!"

That was a dark call & response cheer we did 30+ yrs ago at the prosecutor's office (juvenile) aaagh.
Dark days probably for everyone associated w/ our work. Prosecution, Defense, Judging, Administrative, etc

Sorry to bring it down briefly.
    Restore w/ some therapeutic shopping.

I'd say maybe Affinity level? Thin body, modern bridge.

Looks good though. I just have no space.

I've bought two guitars, an amp and various cables from monoprice, everything has been high value and high quality. I have found the reviews for the various products to be honest and helpful. Read the reviews and draw your own conclusions.

At $80, with gig bag, shipped. How can anyone involved in that production chain be making enough money to even bother?

Or, the elements that make up these guitars that we love are really so inexpensive that we've all been paying WAAAAY too much for our Fenders!

For starters, whoever owns the factory making these guitars probably isn't pulling in three quarters of a million per annum like Andy Mooney. Cut that salary down by two-thirds and you can institute some serious discounts right there.

I saw a video review of an Indio guitar by Darrell Braun not so long ago () ...it was quite positive, despite the low cost. The review was for the Strat type, but...

It's worth 80 bucks. Affinity build and QC are better and more consistent and durable. Big sales and discounts are a good way to know what a product is really worth. There's really no such thing as a guitar with a realistic, true working value of 500 being available for 100. It's a $100 guitar that had been marketed at a ripoff price, now settling into its actual market value. Nevertheless, the construction process and market have changed so much that even a guitar with a price of $80 can be entirely and enjoyably workable and legit -- far from the cheap crap I grew up with.
