As I understand it, is a (real) Presence control acting on the output stage of an amp, negative feedback control. Is that right?
( just regurgitating things I read, but will never understand!)

I like everything I see about this amp,
and I bought 3 amps ( small) last year.

I really wish I had not seen this thread!

Does anyone know, is the Reverb ( I know it is real Spring) actually tube generated? Thanks

For $299 you can pick up this amp and the Monoprice Indio telecaster. It's actually a great guitar for the money after a good setup. Probably the best starter pack ever.

Is ' Monoprice' a brand name ( of owner/distributor) for all kinds of products? ( not just musical)
Just seems ' Monoprice' is a goofy name for amps

    But I'm liking the amps!

Stereo for less than the cost of a used Jr. little stiff until the speaker breaks in but after that its a cool little amp and you can play it at 1 watt

They have a line of electronics that I am aware of...haven't paid much attention to anything but the amps. Thomann has what looks like the same amp, but it has Euro power requirements.

Monoprice is the company name, they sell all kinds of products and I'm sure they source them and have them all private labeled.
As has been mentioned the Monoprice tube amps are pretty much the same as the Laney versions with some tweaks.

Monoprice is the name of the company that sells the amp. The actual brand name is "Stage Right".

Would this be a great ammo for a newbie still waiting for delivery of his first electric guitar and searching for an amp?

There are a couple of Katana 50s nearby I was looking at, and also jiving the look of a Vox...

    Home use.

My answer is it checks a lot of boxes for a very cheap price:
    - tube amp
    - 12" Celestion speaker
    - real spring Reverb
    - switchable from 15 watts to 1 watt
    - good controls for a 1 channel amp, easy to use
    -attractive!
    -25 lbs. Light!
    - these amps get a lot of love here, as good sounding values
    - folks here at TSPRI seem quite happy

I appreciate it. I'm not so sure how attractive it is but it sounds like ppl drop their internals into new, handmade cabs which is speaking to me to try.

A 50W Katana mk2 is prolly overkill for me.... But at $150?...

I hadn't seen this when I posted the notice, but the deal using this coupon code above only lasts through the 21st.

Crap. I only caught this thread yesterday evening and couldn't decide that quick on my first amp. I've been watching reviews this morning and now I read this. lol.

I wonder why they do these types of discounts? Reduce inventory? I'll keep my ears open if you guys share the next time it goes on sale!

I could be wrong, but isn't the usual price, minus shipping, just $250?

Seems like a good deal, still.

I have been eyeballing this amp for a few years now.

Everything I ever read on them indicates that they are really solid, great-sounding tube amplifiers.

The only customer reviews I ever spotted that pointed to a trend was that the spring reverb sounded tinny or inferior. And those units are easily replaced, I reckon.

Four screws and you pull the red and white jacks, and they are out.
Get a nicer quality one for 25 to 30 bucks, quick install, and bingo-bango, you are in business.

    :)
