They're a bit longer and broader than standard minibuckers so they'll need custom routing.

By the way, thanks for the link. They will give some competition to the overpriced Lollar gold foils !

They are quite shallow; I think they are surface-mount. Do they have kits?? That'd be fun.

Edit: whoa, man, 120 bucks a piece??? That's more than a whole Teisco with 2-4 originals in it....

Aren't the gold foil equipped Teiscos getting pricey?

    Not anymore.
Unless you find one (with actual De Armond gold foils) where the owner doesn't know what they have or is completely f'd up you'll pay at least $150.00 before shipping.

*Even used Gold Foils by themselves in working condition are going for $100 or more.

true, but at least they should fit in a standard mini-humbucker ring mount.

The ones I posted fit a mini-humbucker ring.

Certainly they do fit a minibucker ring and they look like DeArmond gold foils but they are not built the same. Here's a photo of an original one, not the same thickness !

The ones from Mojotone are the Teisco gold foil copy, the one made famous by Ry Cooder. Here's an original :

Mojotone and Lollar make exact copies of the original design.

Be great to have a review if you have time. I've had these on my radar for a while.

I just bought an original off eBay for $80. Still find them at flea markets too.

OK the gold foils look cool but how do they sound? I've noticed that Dan had been installing them into some of his Danocaster builds and the customers are replacing them with reg pickups. Must not sound all that great.. Seems like all the builders are building them now, Lollar has had one for a minute or two as well.

There are vids on youtube of the Mojo pickups gold foil - put that wording in or demos by Ramon Goose (no kidding). I have one and they get that Cooder sound. Teisco guitars/pickups are now at totally unrealistic prices on the bay.
Nick o'Caster- the teisco gf you pictured is not the same configuration as used by Cooder. The Mojo, and Lollar are the correct configuration. There is a difference soundwise.
