Once provided audio services for a Mojo Nixon with Skid Roper show. It was a wild ride & still can't think about Martha Quinn without laughing.
I saw him on his "acoustic beer run" tour at a small club in San Jose. The deal was something like "bring a beer and Mr. Nixon will drink it". Someone brought a 6-pack of "Billy" beer, apparently brewed by or at the behest of Billy Carter, brother to former POTUS Jimmy Carter. After making quite a deal of this, Mr. Nixon popped open the Billy beers and sprayed everyone in the front of the crowd. Glad I was positioned further back.
Please do not get my awesome Mojo Nixon thread locked by mentioning political figures
Not quite a 2020 recording, rather 1995. but still fitting. or is it re-released?
I have these recordings on my hard drive but had to transfer them from cassette tape way back then. including pitch correction.lol
great record, none the less
Man oh man, I'm a huge Mojo fan...been following him since the Bo Day Shus rekkid. I've seen him and Skid open for Violent Femmes and Beat Farmers, and later with the Pogues and Georgia Satellites. Never a dull show, and if he notices you in the crowd, God Help You How cool would it have been to be at the gig in Austin when Don Henley joined the band onstage to sing Don Henley Must Die? Legendary!
You want to know the really cool Mojo thing about where I live? We have a killer go-kart track less than five minutes' walk from my driveway. And a five-minute drive away is a national-level dragstrip.
Mojo is great! He has a radio show on XM/Sirius Outlaw Country. He's a colorful character to say the least!
I like the above song you shared. Say somebody was interested in getting into Mojo Nixon, what are, say, his top 10 songs you’d download first?
I saw Mojo throw a water balloon at Jim Dickinson during a panel at SXSW.
(Along with the one I'd posted, just off the cuff)

Then go and start getting yourself acquainted with Scott H Biram
The Chicken Drop
Full disclosure, I first discovered Mojo because of the collaboration with Jello Biafra. Also the name drop in the Dead Milkmen song.
