As the title says, I'm looking to swap from traditional to dual humbucker since I already have a really nice more traditional tele. The neck position is already cut for a bucker but bride is cut traditional. Has anyone ever used like a Seymour Duncan hot rails in bridge with a full size bucker in the neck? How was the balance/tone of the two? Or would it be best to just route bridge and go dual full size buckers? Also which set would you go with if it were you?

I have one with a 59 neck and a Little 59 bridge, they play very well together. What would you pair with the hot rails?

Good to know! I didn't really have a plan as to what to pair with it i was just using it as an example of a humbucker that wouldn't require body and bridge mods so to speak. I appreciate your response and I will for sure look into those!

This is an older picture of my dual humbucker, when it was a single humbucker ( I hadn't fitted the rail yet )
Sunburst-Tele.JPG

It now sports a dual rail at the bridge and 500K audio taper volume pot. The dual rail I chose was a Vanson as it is quite low output compared to the SD. The neck pickup is a sort of Filtertron-ish thing from Vanson. Again, low-ish output. They balance very well both tonally and in terms of output. The 500K was required to avoid neck-mud, but it did make the bridge a little too 'bitey' until the rail went in.
It does -not- sound like my SG! It sounds closer to an SG fitted with P90 types. Wonderful clarity from both pickups and it can still get a grind on when I want it to.

Lions & Tigers oh Mi !
.

I keep single coils in the neck, hums get muddy. Dynasonic, Gold Foil, Jazzmaster, Strat.

Regular bridge Humbuckers I rotate so the screw poles are on the neck facing side and raised them.

Get an HH routed body, put a bridge H in it, no neck pickup, and wire it for a four way control of that one pickup... This is awesome because it's my main Tele ;)
It will be different than your other Tele.
