Wrong pole spacing as well??? google F spacing and non.

The stock original bridge is F-spaced as are the Tonerider Birmingham replacement set. That's the spacing of the poles not the actual pickup bobbin widths which are standard.

Any other mod related ideas? Smaller tele bridge with separate metal pickup rings and add screw mounting blocks to the pickup cavities?
Makes me wonder if I should have just gotten the cheaper Fleor Alnico 5 humbuckers but Tonerider was the better quality choice.
Just research your choices and pick the one that fits - not that it matters if you open the pick guard a bit more - but life too short to worry about size - just start with the right size to begin with.

Finished filing the bridge plate opening. Just have to touch up the bare edges with some Testors black enamel model paint. Good for the Tonerider Birmingham bridge humbucker now! Next the pickguard opening to enlarge.

Everything now fits! I modded the bridge plate and pickguard opening in my TE-20 HH SBK to properly install the Tonerider Birmingham humbucker set I bought. I enlarged the holes to 70.5mm x 38.3mm for some wiggle room. The original dimensions were too tight! I used painters tape as a guide for the edges started with the corners first using a round file. Tonerider told me the height adjustment screw size is #3-48 imperial (non-metric) thread spacing. Eventually I'll try to find black screws instead of the chrome ones the pickups come with.
