Ernie Brooks, ML bass player, had a decades long association with Elliott Murphy. He also played with David Johansen. Maybe not Cars/Talking Heads level but I'd take it.The drummer went on to drive a Car. The keyboardist later became a Talking Head.

I don't know who wrote it but I like the Joan Jett version better... but even then I wouldn't consider that "Roadrunner".. tune... her best...maybe the song has some meaning for certain people?..
