    E4144A02-48F8-4029-9E7C-6305172B797A.jpeg A few weeks ago I picked up a LPB Squier Tele on sale for $129. I have little experience working on my guitars but Covid-19 is here and after getting a pro setup with some fret polishing, my tech is now AWOL. Got up the courage, watched a few You Tube videos on soldering, etc and got some helpful feedback from forum members. Here’s what I’ve done;
    -Sanded off the logo and refinished the headstock with multiple coats of TruOil
    -Installed a set of Bootstrap Pretzel pickups
    -Installed - 4-way Oak Grigsby switch with premium wiring and caps from StewMac.
    So add the $80 for the setup, plus pickups, switch & wiring etc and I’m all-I’m for less than $320. This guitar sounds, plays and looks great. I couldn’t ask for a better deal.

    Nice!
    I'm betting this won't be your last 'project', now that you have had such a success with this one :twisted:

    I like the fact that you sanded off the decal. It looks really nasty on the cheaper Squier guitars, almost like they are put on with a Sharpie.

    Thank you, and Yes I agree. That logo wasn’t their best effort-:)

    Yeah, the bullet mustang decal is particularly awful, I quite fancy one of those but that decal is coming off if I do get one. :D

    nice work! Is it a bullett tele or an affinity? Are the pickups the stock ones?

    Thanks -No- I installed Bootstrap Pretzels and a 4-way switch. It’s a Bullet, not an Affinity

    I have a 2019 Bullet and it's routed for a humbucker at the neck.

    Nice. Next, try a nut and tuners. They make all the difference on a cheap guitar.

    The nut and tuners are fine. Sealed tuners and the guitar stays in tune perfectly

    I was wondering about that - I also have a Tele Bullet and I'm upgrading the hardware in the body and I was eyeballing the nut and tuners - my feeling is they are fine (for me) for now.
