Good save on the gap mo. And good find on the neck pocket. I was gonna suggest taking it down a smidge. She’s looking really good.

    Thanks for the help everyone!
we’re back in business. Hole fix isn’t perfect. But good enough. I’ll probably be the only one who ever notices.

And after shaving the neck pocket back flat the overstand looks just right

Start with a heavy mix of vintage amber transtint. Sip some coffee while it dries. Then sand back a bit. (Don’t get the two liquids mixed up)
    upload_2020-4-15_13-41-12.jpeg

then mix in some straight brown dye into that amber and slather on

    Day 31 (I think)

started the long finishing process. First experience with Aquacoat. So far I like it much better than the standard grain filler. Much less mess.

Well the aquacoat was a quick process. Did a couple of those then onto a wash coat of sanding sealer
    upload_2020-4-17_16-9-47.jpeg
shaping up for a nice smooth finish at this point

Although I am generally in the wood lovers band, that is a really nice colour you have there. And, try as I might, I can't see the little issue you had at all ;). Looking great.

Ha. I know how you feel. I’m totally out of guitar strings atm, and got two new builds and a refurbishment all set up ready to go. Was able to start online trading last week, so hopefully some new ones here in a few days.

oh that’s a sad state to be in!

got everything strung up yesterday. Still lots of fine tuning to do on the setup but everything works!

Few high frets it turns out. Will have to go back to the bench for a better leveling
