So since I’ve been sentenced working from home for at least a couple weeks, I’ll jump in on the Brotherhood.

My first decent electric guitar was a Mexican Strat I got for my 13th birthday. Its been a bit of a dud since I got it . It’s just dull acoustically, no sustain, and dead in my hands. I’ve done electronics and hardware upgrades try and make up for it. But it’s still pretty lifeless. Time to give those upgrades a new home! Don’t know that I’ll make the 90 timeframe, but I’ll try... maybe I’ll at least finish by September

Had some leftover Ash and maple so this happened today.

Seems like there's a sudden surplus of free time all over

A month ago i was worried about a thousand things, now 99% of those things don't even matter.

    crazy times.
    Build guitars!

Yea, I'm in my shop daily being retired from full time work, but I'm in it daily longer now. Professor Dr. SWMBO will be teaching from home going forward; youngest daughter, a junior at PSU, has all her classes remote now plus her employer wants her to work from home, too...and the older daughter's therapy is now via phone and she only works 20 hours a week in a supermarket. The house is pretty crowded suddenly! 'May have to do more than one Brotherhood Build. LOL Along with client work, of course.

'Glad you're joining the build party, Mo!

Another day of templating. Not very gratifying but definitely necessary.

That ash looks awesome! You may want to switch it up and put a swimming pool rout in for the pickups to take off additional weight. You can take some additional weight by taking the thickness down to 1.70-1.65 like Leo did at G&L.

Thanks for the tips! I actually am planning on the swimming pool for that very reason. Only did the standard strat arrangement for the template for future use. I recently built a tele out of this wood and it weighs a metric ton
Wish I had thought about taking some off the thickness before the glue up. Now it won’t fit in the planer. Oh well! Nothing like a 10 Lb strat

How wide is your planner? Will it fit after you cut to shape?

It’s a 12 inch. There might be enough wiggle room to fit the shaped body in though. We will see!
