Doctor of Teleocity
I’m not a purist—never really have been.
However, I thought it was stupid when guitarists were butchering 50’s guitars to add a Floyd Rose (I detest Floyd Rose vibratos—most vibratos, for that matter—and those were non-reversible mods), but again, I don’t rail on and on about somebody taking a classic design and tweaking it for a new model or new guitar (jokes about the HM Tele aside).
I don’t like the guitar in the OP, but that’s ok. I’m not it’s target audience.
That’s why there’s different types of guitars and amps and basses and cars and jeans and boots and shirts and jackets. Not everyone is the same.
There are some take-offs of the Telecaster that I like:
Ibanez Talman
Chandler Austin Special:
Even the Telecaster Thinlines (‘69 and ‘72) Telecaster Custom, Telecaster Deluxe and the Offset Telecaster (all Fender variants of the Tele) are cool in my book.
A lot of people hate those.
That’s ok.
