I’ve recently ordered a Tele body from MJT as part of a ‘63 Tele Tribute project as an homage to my birth year. It will be: Swamp Ash, (LPB), Medium aging, a little buckle rash and some arm wear. I want a guitar that looks as old as I do. Finished project will include: MJT body (LPB), Allparts maple/rosewood Tele style neck, parchment pickguard, Fender Classic Series 60’s Bridge w/ threaded barrel saddles, Fender “vintage” tuners, Fender CS Texas Special pickups (I know), CTS pots, 3-way switch, custom neck plate with my “63” birth date for the serial number.

I know it will take a while for the body to arrive so I’m hoping some of you all can fill my waiting time with pics and stories of your projects that included MJT bodies/necks. I’ll return the favor when mine arrives.

So far my experience has been great. Quick response to my initial email through the MJT website and simple ordering process thereafter.

    Thanks

I always lose on MJT ebay bids, but someday I'll hopefully win one or just order one.. I also missed a local sale due to financial difficulties, on a really nice thinline tele body by MJT that hasnt been used.. oh well. I'll keep trying my luck for one of these.. I like 60's themed telecasters and I actually want a back up for my AVRI 62, but in LPB too, or Fiesta Red, or Shell Pink, or Aztec Gold, still cant decide on the color!

Congrats in advance, its hard to be patient especially on guitar purchases, or maybe whatever online purchases, but hang on!

Here is my MJT purple Tele body. I also had them finish another Tele that my daughter had painted. They did an amazing job on both!

Best wishes with your build. Sounds a nicely thought through project.

Here are my MJT body builds, both early 60s types. Aged Fiesta Red and aged Blue Ice Metallic. Excellent guitars easily compete with my Custom Shop 63 in terms of resonance and playability.

It’s not a tele but I have a jazzmaster body that Mjt did for me
I’d gladly order something from them again, they have great customer service
I can’t speak for anyone else or any other color and only have experience with this sunburst finish but I’d say it’s one of the softest finishes I’ve ever had.
Laid it on a table that had some crumbs on it and they left divots all over the back that’s probably my fault though.
Anyway enjoy your new guitar when it arrives it doesn’t seem that long if you just keep busy, I think they actually got it done pretty quickly.

This is the latest of the three MJT bodies that I have. Haven't had time to finish the Musikraft neck yet.

I had a nice back and forth with Matt earlier this year. I was looking for a NOS Mary Kaye finish though and he told me they didn’t offer NOS. Bummer but he was very nice to deal with.

Your aged Blue Ice Metallic is very close to what I imagine mine will look like. Great looking guitars.

I'm just finishing up a "modified" Nocaster blackguard build using an MJT swamp ash body in blonde, an allparts TMO-FAT neck and Fralin overwound tele pickups.

    Pictures to come soon.

Sounds like we’re building the same guitar! Well, except mine is gonna be CAG. Here’s some progress pictures I’ve gotten

I’ve done 7 Mjt projects in total now, I don’t wanna highjack your thread with my pictures, but if you do wanna see them, I post tons of pictures on Instagram @Fender.Fan. Feel free to browse :)
