Deluxe Fender reverb amp Model AB 763 From late 1960 era
    Best offer over $ 500.00

The guy sold it for a $1000 looked like an EVM 12L speaker in the craigslist pic, but everything else was orginal. He said he bought in 72 for $175 and played accordion on it until recently. Said he stopped playing because he had a stroke. He asked me if he got enough money for it. I don't think he did, but all I said was I think you did okay.

Too bad you missed it. THe non-original speaker hurts its value some, but the fact that it had an EVL in it sort of balances that out. Someone got a deal.....even if it isn't a pristine example.

I talked to the same gentleman. I told him he was selling too cheap but he had already made the deal. He lived in Gurnee and the dude buying it drove up from peoria( 3 hours away). Someone got a good deal!!!

I think in the current economy, that is a fair price. It was not original but true it had a decent speaker (an upgrade!).

Yes a decent deal for someone but really, the guy got his his money out of it for 30+ years and most old amps need some kind of maintanence. I think I see rust on the hardware, who know what the internals are like.

Now if it would have sold for $500...

I don't know, I think this amp would have gone for closer to $1500 on ebay.

I don't know either but $1500 for a Deluxe of unknown condition is too rich for my blood. But I am a player (and a lousey one at that), not a collector.

My amps are a PV C30 and an Ampeg RI so really I am not the one to know.
