Anyone have any pictures of their Tele's with a Mint Green guard on it? They look like they only have a green tint to them. I would like to see how they look ON a actual guitar. Thinking about one for my sunburst HWY1.

    Ditto.

The downside is you'll have to take the neck almost all the way off to change pickguards on the Highway 1. Dumbest design feature ever? I think so!!

Oooh, yeah I like it. Go!
I think mint green on sunburst is a great combo. I just put together a (cough) Strat with this combo & she's a looker!

I've kicked around the idea of putting a mint green or black guard on my sunburst highway 1. But I haven't done it for three reasons. 1) Maple Fretboard. I generally associate mint green guards with rosewood boards of the sixties. 2) The parchment color guard that it came with his really nice. 3) The neck must come off.

Mine's a build that I used a HWY1 body and a 21 fret neck, so I don't have the problem of having to remove the neck to get to the guard.

IMO, mint looks best on a burst if it has a RW board. If you're talking maple, I'd say single ply white or black.

Ah. . .21 fret neck. Good. Is it maple or rosewood?

ajgus: are you saying you wish your neck was maple?

Having said all that, I think we've tapped into why there are very few if any maple board tele's with mint green guards. But I'd still be interested in seeing one.

to be honest, I don't know if I have one or not.

I do have a mostly original 63 with rosewood neck. If someone could check out the (poor) pics in my Gallery, maybe you could enlighten me.

    Cheers,
    Doug

Mine's got a maple board and a stark white guard on it. I don't like how sterile it looks.

Here is my Muddy Waters Tele with a mint guard.
It looks more greenish in different lighting.

Well, it ain't no tele....but it is a sunburst with a mint green pick guard!:D The knobs and pup covers are "parchment" no flash used...this should show you just how green (or how little green) mint guards are.

Here's my 60's Classic with mint green guard - I also tend to agree that mint green goes best with a rosewood board:D

Hmmm...I'm not sure how to answer that . My Tele neck is maple. But its Honey Blonde with a blackguard. I have a Strat with a RW board & a mint green guard. I was saying above that the '61 Custom in the pic I posted was nice & I wish that was mine. So if there is any way you could facilitate that desire...that'd be swell. Thanks in advance! ;)

In my photos, I have a picture of my sunburst P-Bass with a mint green pickguard on it. It's nice and subtle but to me is way nicer looking that the stark white one that came with the bass.

Happen to have this covered ;)

I happen to have a 3TB on the bench, also a maple and a rosewood neck too, go figure.

So I shot a few pics with the combos:

    Pickguards:
The one with the PUP in it is White and older, like 2001
The Esquire is Mints Green is new, just got it.
The other with the empty PUP hole is Parchment and an 2007.
