Minor Lydian Mode

    Yesterday I posted about the Lydian mode in a major key, today it's the minor key. It's a lot like the blues scale but instead we really emphasize the #4 rather than using it as a passing tone. I also include the maj6 and 9th. It adds some cool sounds. Try it over dominate 7th chords. Using the Lydian like this is an easy way to get that distinct sound without breaking your brain trying to figure out how modes work. Happy Halloween!

    When you use the maj6th and maj9th along with the #4 it's commonly called a Dorian #4 mode/scale.
