    Hello everyone,

As my avatar hints at, I am currently serving in the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, US Army.

I am MOS 37F and have been in the Army for almost ten years?

Who else has served or is currently serving?

I was enlisted 81-85, got out about 18 months, and went back in from 86-89. I was in "Commo" and served in nuke units in Germany and Holland (all of my former units are gone now) and in a Military Intelligence unit at Ft Carson, CO. I got out as a SGT E-5. Enjoyed my time in the military, but didn't want to make it a career. However, now that a lot of my friends from back then have retired and are working second careers... yeah, a little envious of them.

Marine Reserve (0311) in 1974. When I graduated high school, I transferred to The Army spending my first couple of years as a Military Policeman and radio operator. Then transferred into Engineering to be a Graphics Illustrator. I left The Army in 1982 as a Spec-5. I was up for E6 but I wasn't allowed to reenlist because I was 5 lbs overweight (I dropped 30 lbs in 30 days to reach the goal and missed it by 5 lbs).

I went to San Diego MCRD and Camp Pendleton for AIT. Spent time with Lima Co in Concord California then HHQ in Baltimore MD. Army was Ft McClellan Al for MP training then Ft Meade Md in the 293 MP Company, 519 MP Battalion. Went to Erlangen Germany to be a Battalion Graphics Artist in the HQ Co of a Mech Infantry Battalion (119th? I forget). I drove a tracked vehicle and spent time in the field with everyone else. I drove that beast 23 hours straight in one field exercise where the BN CO wanted us to go around the OpFor. Back in The World, I was stationed at Ft Belvoir and worked in The Basin, the post graphics arts department.

Army National Guard 2005-2011. I was a 46-Q, Public Affairs. Spent summer 09 to summer 2010 all over Iraq, taking photos and writing press releases about the logistical progress of the drawdown. Very boring most of the time. Was finishing up my packet to become a warrant officer and helo pilot, but decided I wasn't ready to sign away another 8-10 years. Was offered my E-6 just before my ETS date, requiring that I extend for a year. Turned it down. Got out last April and haven't cut my hair since.

I served at Bragg with SOCOM from 1984 to 1989 in PSYOPS as an 84F (Combat cameraman) Was also a Psyops Specialist. Had a blast and miss it dearly. It was the Army within the Army. We had our own set of rules.

I was right down the street from you on Mosby.
