Wow. Just, wow. No comment from Muhammad Ali...

"Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. will fight on Nov. 28 at Staples Center without fans amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press.

It will be the first event at the Los Angeles arena since March.

The two generational boxers came out of retirement earlier this year and agreed to an eight-round exhibition that was originally scheduled for Sept. 12 in Carson, California. The fight was postponed two months, but the fighters will still get a chance to go toe-to-toe Thanksgiving weekend.

In addition to battling for pride, the winner will also receive the newly created WBC Frontline Battle Belt.

Jones' last professional fight came in 2018, but it will be the first for Tyson since 2005."

At what point, when you're fighting Tyson, do you realize you've made a huge mistake?

Tyson is 54, Jones is 51. In case you're wondering what underwear they prefer, well, depends... (do NOT tell Tyson I wrote that...)

When he entered the ring for most of them. You could see it in their eyes. They were beat before the first punch was thrown.

I saw Tyson on Joe Rogan’s podcast talking about it a couple of weeks ago. He had gotten fat but was afraid of working out because he didn’t want to unleash the competitive beast. So he finally started walking on a treadmill, which turned into 2 hours a day on the treadmill. Then he got a call to fight Bob Sapp, so he started training like crazy. It got changed a couple of times and eventually got to Jones.

I like boxing and admire both fighters' (former?) skills, but I don't give a rat's behind about this.

how i wish the world could have seen Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson. you know, at equal ages. i love Joe Frazier! to me, Joe was the toughest man alive. but Tyson was a real killer. Damn, i wish that fight could have happened! i think Joe could have took him apart!

WHAT??? I guess I now know the answer to the question "Who WOULDN'T want to see Mike Tyson fight just one more time?", it's you, lol. It would be like seeing Bruce Lee fight one more time, except not dead and skeletal (which, in itself, would literally be awesome and terrifying). Tyson is, in my mind, a boxing legend with all the twists and turns and pathos that makes a great story and this is the final chapter.

I would take that bet but I would certainly love to have seen it, too.

Tyson's peek a boo boxing style was a force of nature. Jones is a technical fighter, able to throw hooks as fast as most boxers can throw jabs.

Jones grew up in a gym run by is father and was abused and pushed to his limits.

Tyson's mother was a prostitute, and his father a pimp. His mother died young, and he never met his father. He was an orphan adopted by a boxing coach in the Catskills.

This should be an interesting match, some say Tyson is using it as a jump off to get a shot at the heavyweight title again.

I wouldn't discount Jones just yet. He went 10 years without losing a ROUND when he was in his prime.

Jones was a mid heavy, and Tyson was a heavy. But they are almost the same exact height and age.

In an age of PEDs and steroid use. Tyson was king, until he met the "Warrior" Holyfield. And the boxing artiste Lennox Lewis.

I can't wait to see this fight. Lennox Lewis is my favorite of all time. Favorite fight is Shannon Briggs vs. Lennox Lewis. It was spiritual the way Lewis went into the zone and folded Briggs up.

Tyson expects a quick win. Jones says if he makes it past round 3, the match is his.

I foresee someone getting knocked out in the first 30 seconds, or the two of them leaning on each other in an endless clinch for fifteen rounds. Not to say I won't watch the highlights with interest...

I just hope Jones is taking this serious, because, from everything I’ve seen, Tyson has turned prepping for this fight into his latest addiction.
