I had the control plate and switch prewired but still needed to connect the pickup wires to the switch and the bridge and pickup grounds to the back of the pot. I use a piece of newspaper to protect the guitar from any solder.

Next I drilled the holes and screwed the electrosocket and the strap buttons on.

Here I clamped the neck on with a couple of pieces of leather to protect the guitar from the clamp and put on the two E strings to align the neck before drilling the neck screw holes.

Next I drilled and screwed the neck to the body.

I need to go get some longer screws so I can lower the neck pickup a little more. The screws that were in the Teisco mounted the pickup higher than the Tele needs to be. The only thing I have left to do is finish the nut and. set the intonation.

Look they are making friends already...

Mike, that guitar is Grace Kelly-- an absolutely classic beauty. I'm just awestruck.

I used my new Stewmac nut ruler (love this thing) and filed the slots in the nut and then used a feeler guage stack to file down to so I wouldn't go too far roughing it in.

It is almost done... I still need to put on the string tree. This guitar sounds great. It has a cool scooped tone in the middle position. The neck PU sounds smooth and warm and the bridge sounds a little aggressive but not too bright. I made an audio recording tonight and I will make the video tomorrow and take a good picture of it in the daylight.

Mike, that guitar is sweet! Yes, I can hear the sustain. Can we hear it at 11 in the video too?

You're a bonafide artist. Congrats on another gorgeous build. Sounds really really fine. The contrast between body/neck in the backside view is particularly striking. Cheers!
