I liked it fine. Nice to see Mike keeping busy, even if it isn't his finest work. Great tones. Radio doesn't play new rock records anymore, so just cut loose and have some fun with it. Back to the bars!

And I'm betting Campbell has the time to do this, FM and a couple other projects if he cares to.

+2 This was my initial thought too. An old Petty/Campbell song that didn't make it into production. I enjoyed it. Good to see this group working it. Love the gear and the visuals.

    I'm probably being too critical-
I'm still mourning the loss of Tom P. and the chemistry with Mike.
He's probably trying to find himself too.
He really is a heck of a player

I like it and that Rick. Sounds a lot like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

    Hi.

Sometimes the whole is less than the sum of the parts (or, something...).

But, the parts were certainly there, that's for sure.

I agree with the people that have suggested he's a collaborator. Nothing wrong with that either, I completely and utterly don't mean that as a dismisal or anything. I just think he needs to find someone to work with.

I did subscribe to his channel too. We all should, so he suddenly has way more than 175...

The man needs a good hairdresser.

But that's been the case for a while now.

(Love the playing and the music though.)

While I didn't get that impression back when they made the announcement and they were all together on stage, TBH that would definitely work for me. It would mean that there's hope that Stevie Nicks will get over her snit about Lindsay, and the complete band might do another tour. That said, I thought FM were terrific with Neil Finn and Campbell.

I liked the song, though I agree it sounded like one that didn't make the cut on a Heartbreakers record. I think the band has a lot of potential, I'm keeping an eye out.

It was a bit eerie that he sounded so much like Tom. Even dressed like him, down to the hat and glasses...and of course the Ric.

I guess when you work with someone so closely for so many years it's inevitable.

I really liked it. I think that the production and the arrangement, especially at the end, could be cleaned up a little but I love that Heartbreakers sound. I think that Mike has the voice to carry this off. We'll see!

On another note, it's nice to see Jason Sinay somewhere other than the couch at Norm's... :)

Loved the tipping of the hat at the end.

I'd like to hear some keyboards in there...

(I can't hear any through my computer speakers.)

IMO, it would really sound like the Heartbreakers with keyboards filling out in the background.

Some of you guys are pretty harsh. You can't expect perfection from every song, you'll only be let down. Personally, I think it's a good old fashioned rock and roll song. I expect it to sound like the Heartbreakers. That's just who Mike Campbell is and I like it.

Mike Campbell is a tasteful player that added color to Tom Petty's first rate songwriting. Without Tom, he is still tasteful but doesn't have much else going on.

I had no idea the guy actually would sing, let alone have a voice somewhat like TP's. Did he ever sing on stage with TP and the Heartbreakers? I never saw him go near a mic in any concert footage I've seen. Dang.

I think that sells him a little short considering he co-wrote with Tom many of the Heartbreakers' hits.

Love Mike Campbell...every since I heard the opening riff to Refugee, so long ago now. Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers are/were so damn important to me and it's been difficult since Tom left us. Still hurts and such an immeasurable void.

That being said. I love that Mike is working and out on the road. Fleetwood Mac or Dirty Knobs. I'm glad he continues to play and write and be a part of it all, for us.

I like the song. I like it alot. You go, Mike! Some of us need you to.

Its one thing to jangle out a nice riff and another thing to lay a catchy vocal melody with a hook on it. Hopefully this isnt the strongest offering on the album.
