I know I'm sounding harsh here because I love Tom Petty and I love Mike Campbell but this song sounds like a Tom Petty song that wasn't good enough to make the cut
It just kind of lays there nothing really interesting going on

huh, man i tried. listened again since so many positive comments here. that song is boring as all get out to me. the melody is basically non-existent and the phrasings are pathetic. i hate to say these things but i just don't hear what all the fuss is about. its completely forgettable. i hate that for him too. i really have always loved his playing and work with Petty.

I like it too... good to hear those nicely blended guitars.
Voice is a lot like Tom. But.... hate me fore saying it... it sounds like his dentures don't fit. Listen to those old person Ss....

It was ok. Who else is in the band?

    Cheers,

I think the cinematography was really good. Good-looking video. Like his voice--kind of sounds like Petty without the swagger.

He's been doing Dirty Knobs for awhile now. I saw him a couple years back right after Tom passed. Damn good too.

Matter of fact, they've sold out 2 upcoming shows at the same club.

Not bad not great. Are we expecting Petty level? Yes he's been around a while, but I'm willing to let him work into the band leader/front man that he may not be sure he has in him. Like I said before I hope it means he's out of Fleetwood Mac. I know those gigantic heads would stifle his creativity, though him in a trio with Mick Fleetwood and John McVie could be interesting.

I really liked it! Mike's singing is very good, such a shame we didn't here his voice in the Heartbreakers. The bass player plays alot like Chris Scruggs IMO. (Chris Scruggs, from the Earl Scruggs family line, who now plays with Marty Stuart.) Interestingly, Mike produced Marty's last album Way Out West.

    Keep on Mike Campbell!

You guys are being too critical I think. Of course he's never going to be as good without Tom (who could be?), but it's a lot better than being FM's Joe Walsh!

Maybe. Probably. But. Its mike Campbell. The song is in bad need of a hook of some kind. The overall sound and musicianship is fine.

Sometimes I find myself reacting to something based on what I want it to be, not what it actually is.

I think Mike's singing is fine for this genre. The playing and production are excellent, of course. I'm glad he's making his own music, but the song doesn't really go anywhere. He's been very successful as a co-writer in the past, I think he probably just needs to find the right writing partner.

Give him time. He's got a huge hole in his heart that's never going to mend. How would you feel if you lost your lifelong partner?

Love the Dirty Knobs! They have a big tour this Spring, coming to Texas and many other cities. I hope to catch them soon.

    I’m digging it!

masterclass on rhythm guitar right there and some very tasty tones as always.

I’m even more excited that his dreadlocks are gone! Now I can look at him without laughing at his dookie rolls.

Man, I'm really - really - not sure where the whole Fleetwood Mac hate thing is coming from, because well, Fleetwood Mac... but does anyone have the answer to if he left the band? Are the Knobs now his gig?

He still needs to buy a comb and some shampoo, lol. Have you seen the rig rundown where his guitar tech shows his blackguard Tele with about a half inch of black crud on the fingerboard and he says "Mike won't let me clean that off"? When poor people have quirks they're called crazy, when rich people do they're called eccentric.

I was under the impression that Mike was a hired hand for the FM tour, not a permanent band member. I guess the tour is over, he got paid and now is on to his next thing.

Whatever you think of the song the look and sound of that beautiful Rickenbacker steals the show. Well played, I might add!
