I just wonder who owns the Tele and the famous Les Paul today. Sounds like those that have them do not know they are Bloomfield's lost guitars.
I know where the Telecaster is...but not the Les Pauls...
...Music history...Cool stuff..

FredDairy, love that color pic. Dig that custom-colored J-bass with matching headstock in...can it be...Charcoal Frost Metallic?? That's insane.
As for his Les Pauls...
Dan Erlewine has the gold top. He's supposedly had it ever since Bloomfield traded it to him for the burst.
The old Bloomfield legend goes that he left the burst at a gig he cancelled on. I'm willing to bet that whoever has that guitar knows what they've got and are keeping their mouth shut. He supposedly cracked the neck off twice at the heel and didn't even have it repaired the 2nd time and chose to use tape as a fix.
Well here is the story of the first 64 Tele...
It was traded even to John Nuese... guitarist of Gram Parson's International Submarine band for John's early 50's Les Paul Gold Top..That was Bloomfields first Gibson...John said Mike played it and had to have it!..So they traded even..
Cool to know that the Gold Top is around!
The Tele is under my bed....
cool stuff......
