Hello!, i have the chance to buy without trying or playing a Tele. Could be a used Tele from the fugijen period (my brother lives in Tokyo and he can send it to me) or a MIM from the 2000 (Right now there's a James Burton for 450$ that i could buy).

I play mostly chords, but has a producer i need that clean Fender Single Coil sound. I play latin alternative music.

Would you, without trying it, go with the Fugijen MIJ option or the MIM 2000's MIM?

    Thanks!

If you can get an MIJ, I'd say that's the best choice, but an MIM would still be a very good instrument.

You said something about being a producer so it sounds like just an instrument for recording and not gigging or collecting. I would think the MIM would be fine. Either will probably do well for the Fender cleans you seek.

I like the sounds of that Burton for $ 450.

If it doesn't suit you, you can easily flip it.
