If it really is from the late 80’s it should have a neck pencil date, especially since it doesn’t have a serial number under the “mij”

It’s impossible to date them with the A serial on the bridge they used those bridges for almost a decade if not longer

It looks like a foto flame with exception of the neck, the foto flames came out in the early-mid 90’s (I think, maybe someone knows what this actual guitar is)

I just noticed the cracks in the “top” by the control plate so it’s definitely a foto flame, pretty much a picture of curly maple laminated on the top, if that’s the only crack it should be fine but they are notorious for flaking

I think it’s legit, the only thing throwing me off is usually the neck has a foto flame, I still think it’s okay, the neck does go to a custom tele so I think it belongs to the body

I was thinking of getting a bender put into this type of guitar, does the weird photo on wood finish affect the possibility of this? As in, will an installer have issues with it, or will it cut up etc. like anything else?

    Thanks again!

It looks a lot like the top of the richie kotzen (which is made in japan) but not the back.
