Thought I'd throw this one out there - have fun:
@Mjark - You gave it the full treatment Mark and it sounds great.
Edit: Got a kick out of your song title Mark.
@fendrguitplayr - Very pretty and a tinge melancholy Mike. Nice.
Edit: Meant to ask, what is that UFO thingy in your song pic Mike.
Thanks Alan. Here's mine.
I almost bought one years ago. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002IJO3SG/?tag=tdpri-20
Really like that one! Lots of depth.
It took a few tries to get a mix I could live with.
My quick take after a long and difficult day at work. Gear is Epiphone SG Special (SD Seth Lover bridge), Twinote British Distortion, Hotone Mojo Diamond, Ammoon PockEcho (galaxy setting), Mosky Spring Reverb. (BTW, I just found out that the Ammoon PockEcho is a cheaper version of the new Joyo Aquarius delay.)
That one of the prettiest things I've ever heard on one of these threads.
Bravo to the backing track and to you Mark!
Here's my take. Really nice tracks from everyone so far.
I was going to try and be clever with this ... different parts, sounds etc. Instead I opted for a single take (apart from the intro) of simple slow noodling in straight Am scale all through it.
@Mjark - Very nice parts & sounds. Good mix.
@Alan L Cole Nice dynamic take with some good phrasing.
@fendrguitplayr Nicely underplayed. I felt the guitar needed a bit more verb to blend in.
@simoncroft Nice warm tone, melancholy take.
@bgmacaw interesting dark sound, the backing track could have come up in the mix a bit.
I think Mike told me about it a couple years ago, I just forgot.
@simoncroft - Like your tone here. You've developed a nice melancholy melody here that compliments the track well. Nice!
@bgmacaw - Emotive playing and interesting use of reverb for a big hall effect.
@estreet - Haunting intro. Beautiful production, tone and technique - really nice outro. Sometimes the simple road is the right road.
@Mjark - Nice ideas throughout, subtle with time and space. Nice!
@simoncroft - I like the snap in your playing. Nice runs!
@bgmacaw - Cool ideas throughout. A bit louder than backer but still good to hear.
@Alan L Cole - Another subtle start and nice buildup as you went along. Great dynamics! (The Jam Hub is for ampless rehearsals, each one controls the mix they want to hear including the vocals through headphones.)
@estreet - Very creative and again subtle and nice use of dynamics.
@Mjark – This sounds really complete, well thought out and very well executed. Most atmospheric too.
@fendrguitplayr – This would suit the point in a movie where the main character finally accepts his situat
@bgmacaw – Big sound! It has clearly inspired to go for an equally epic-sounding performance.
@Alan L Cole – There is an intimate, almost confessional, air to this, which really draws the listener in.
@estreet – The title is the review! Great volume swells and it all builds nicely throughout your take. Lovely tones.
@knh555 – Typhoon? I think Mike Oldfield would approve of this, as do I, BTW. Nice guitar interplay.
There's a typhoon bearing down on Taiwan now. It's the second one in as many weeks.
What's happening to the world's weather is very scary indeed.
