I like the song, but it has very little to do with a Mexican Fender.

Of course, I'm thinking about the girl. On one hand, her looks are a little untraditional, shall we say. On the other hand, she is reminiscent of Jenny Agutter, which, due to repeated viewings of "Logan's Run" in my youth, is like sexual kryptonite, bringing me to my knees.

The guitar shop mentioned is actually my favorite shop in the LA area. The only guitar shop in Santa Monica off 7th street is true tone music. The best supply, awesome prices, private rooms to try amps and pedals, willing to haggle on new and used gear, and awesome consignment wall of truly vintage and unique stuff. If you're ever in LA, true tone is the place to go. My wife stopped asking to go to the beach because I'd always end up bringing a new pedal home.

Sorry for the off topic, catchy tune.

Santa Monica...duh! Too easy! ;)

Er... as far as I can tell, Weezer doesn't have a song named "Santa Monica." The "Santa Monica" song I know of is by Everclear and it doesn't reference Santa Monica Blvd.

Man they are terrible now. Pretty much after the Green album. Yuck.

Be that as it may, the fact they are still relevant with kids today blows my mind. You have to look at it from this perspective:

Weezer is popular with the kids in 2017.
Weezer bust onto the scene with Buddy Holly in 1994 and was very popular with the kids then.
1994 was 23 years ago.

Now, what band was popular with the kids in 1994 that was also popular 23 years prior to that, in 1971? The only thing I can think of that was somewhat close was Aerosmith due to their resurgence with the admittedly bland Crazy-Amazing-Cryin' trilogy.

So, based on that reasoning, Weezer is today's Aerosmith.

Weezer rocks, smart guys there, sure. They had some years that we could call "low" or where they somehow lost the target, but since EWBARITE they are back on track. Great album together with the White one, full of highs. Just my 2 cents, of course.

If they are Aerosmith this album is like Honkin on a Bobo.
