    Season 12 Episode 3

Bad news: it is in color

Good new: Bruce Dern, Tom Skerrit, and Betty Davis star. (Along with someone who went on to play Matlock’s daughter but I don’t know her name)

    I loves me some Gunsmoke!

    :)

My mountain man brother in law watches Gunsmoke every day, and has for years on the western channel. He doesn't care if he saw the same episode the day before, it's still Gunsmoke! :)

Just watched the episode myself. Nothing better than to see Bruce Dern’s character gunned down. Betty Davis was her usual scary self.

I also watch Wagon Train but i prefer the Ward Bond episodes.

METV is horrendous for repeating shows, you would think that was unnecessary for a show than ran so long...

I sort of listen to the npr old radio show. It's Cannon voicing Dillion, not The Thing. Typical plot: " Marshal Dillion, I don't respect you, and I m gonna kill you"; Matt wins the gun fight.

I m waiting for the movie. GUNSMOKE THE MOVIE w MATT DILLION as MATT DILLION.

MeTV is dead to me after taking off WKRP for Green Acres.

I must confess that I watch METV all day long. Leave it to Beaver, then Perry Mason, Matlock, Diagnosis Murder, In the Heat of the Night, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Wagon Train, Charlie's Angels, Mama's Family, The Jeffersons, M.A.S.H., The Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle, Green Acres, Hogan's Heroes, Carol Burnett, Perry Mason, The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, Mannix, Cannon, 77 Sunset Strip.
That's the lineup from 8am until 4am the next day, which I know by heart. I don't watch all those shoes, but a good many of them, if I'm not watching TCM. I just saw an episode of Gunsmoke with both Chester AND Festus! I assume it was during the transition when Dennis Weaver was planning his exit. On Saturday they have Have Gun Will Travel, Maverick, Rawhide, Wanted Dead or Alive, and The Wild Wild West.
I wish they hadn't replaced WKRP with Green Acres, or The Big Valley with In the Heat of the Night, but I assume that after cycling through all the episodes of a series a few times, they then decide to start with a different series. They also used to have Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart, which I miss.
Good stuff for a 65 year old true lifelong TV addict!!

Theres an over-the-air network called GRIT that is nothing but old Western movies and a few TV shows.

I always loved that show, still enjoy it when I run across it. One of our two zillion cable channels has it, but I never remember when.

INSP has Gunsmoke and a lot of other TV Westerns in their line-up.
